Let the gate drop! 2021 Round 2

After two arduous weeks of working with Regional Health officials (all of whom have been very helpful and supportive of our communication and willingness to do whatever we needed to do to race again), we are obviously very excited to get out to a brand new track on the circuit. Brett Konkin, promotor of the Transcanada Motocross Park, has worked tirelessly to see his track finally welcome the motocross community.

Please see the latest updates below in preparation for the weekend:

VACCINATION

  • Racers and their pit crews do not require proof of vaccination.

  • SPECTATORS

We’re able to welcome back your vaccinated friends and family back with 100% spectator capacity.

  • All spectators 12 and over must provide proof of full vaccination with either the MB Vaccination card or through the cell phone app confirming vaccination status

  • Children 12 and under do not need to be vaccinated but must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult

A separate wrist band will be provided to spectators to identify their admission. For anyone you know wanting to come and spectate, please make them aware of the vaccine requirement - all we are doing is following the rules and if someone shows up and cannot demonstrate full vaccination then they will not gain entry.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Please continue to pay attention to social distancing and when parking in the pits. Please continue to park as the promoters have been requesting, in line with our race day protocols.

Series Update

To our motocross community:

Since last Wednesday we have been trying to piece together a revised set of protocols that would allow us to continue racing under the present health order, but we have come across two major stumbling blocks. One part of the public health order restricts any outdoor activity on private or public property to 150 people. We were presented with an opportunity to create separate “pods” in the pits to separate people into these pods, which our Pilot Mound promoter, Kyle McCannell was prepared to organize.

The line in the sand came when we were informed that people entering the facility must provide proof of vaccination if there are more than 150 people on the property, and this is something we are not prepared to do. So, until the public health order changes both in terms of the number of people allowed to an outdoor gathering without having to provide proof of vaccination we are at a stalemate.

Prairie Hill MX is going to run an open practice on Saturday and Sunday-details TBA soon. We will look to re-schedule Pilot Mound to another date. In the meantime, we have attached a link to help you find the MLA in your area. Please reach out to let them know that these orders are unreasonable. We will do our best to work with the health authorities in the coming weeks to get back to racing as soon as it is possible.

Sincerely,

204GMoto

Rescheduled: Round 2

To the Grassroots Motocross Community:

This past Wednesday an anonymous complaint was filed to the Regional Health Authority about our first event of the season at Madesa MX as to the race not being in compliance with the current Health Order of the day.

We interpreted the order similar to last year and these orders are not looked at in the same light in 2021. We have since been communicating with the Health Authorities as to how we can be in compliance and continue our events moving forward with new orders slated to begin this weekend.  We will not however, be able to institute a revised site plan in time for Morden to hold their event this weekend, so the Morden open practice and race scheduled for this weekend has been re-scheduled to the weekend of September 25 & 26.  Charlie Westfall and the team at Shadow Valley Raceway have been out at the track all week and are crestfallen at this turn of events, as we all are.  We are now working with the Regional Health Authorities on a site plan for Round 3 next weekend at Prairie Hill MX in Pilot Mound.

We apologize for the unfortunate cancellation and continue to work within the system to keep our season moving forward.  To answer your anticipated question - we will issue full refunds for those who have already registered and paid for both open practice and race day.  Your refund will go back on the card you used in 3-5 business days.

We will release more details pertaining to Pilot Mound as it becomes available.

Sincerely,

204GMoto

Saturday Open Practice
