Round 3 - Prairie Hill MX

Round 3.jpg

Another successful weekend of racing has quickly passed, and our thanks go out to Mark Cosgrove and his family and volunteers for their presentation of such a professional venue.  The weather was, once again, fantastic, but it did provide a challenge for the Madesa track.  Mark and his staff were up to the challenge and managed the dirt wonderfully all weekend.

As we look forward to another amazing venue at the Prairie Hill race track in Pilot Mound, we would like to draw your attention to a few very important reminders/points for the weekend:

  • Please try to bring exact change at the gate

  • Please print out and sign the minor waiver form to help sign in move along quickly.  This is the only small hold up at sign in.

  • PARENTS

    • Some of the speed in the pits with our younger riders last weekend was very dangerous.  Please remind your young racer that there is no racing in the pits.  I saw some kids grabbing 3rd gear….first gear idle speed please.  Don’t force the referee into a situation where they are having to penalize someone.

  • STAGING

    • When the 50cc practice is on (the last practice session of the morning), we should be staging for the first moto.  16-24 Open-please make your way to staging when you see the 50’s on the track.  And when the whistle blows to start racing after a brief intermission, please make your way immediately to staging to start the 2nd motos of the day.

  • PRAIRIE HILL GATE ENTRY TIMES

    • Friday: 4 pm to midnight

    • Saturday: 9 am to midnight

    • Sunday: 6 am to 12 pm

  • Covid Protocol Changes/Updates

    • Section 1 - Sign In

      • Transponder pick up: Saturday 6pm and 8 pm, Sunday 6:30am - 7:10am

    • Section 6 - Staging and Start Gate

      • One person/mechanic per rider, masks are encouraged in the area but no longer required.

    • Section 7 - Awards

      • Available on the same day at a designated area

With respect to the COVID rules, we implore you to continue to be cognizant of how we park in the pits and maintain social distancing.  Thank you for your continued cooperation so that we can keep racing.

(Updated June 26, 2020)

CAMPING UPDATE V2
No tents allowed - we apologize again for the miscommunication.

MORDEN GATE TIMES
For those wanting to arrive on Friday, the gates will be open from 4 pm to 11 pm, and will open again on Saturday morning at 7 am and will close at 11 pm.

MINI THUNDER
Due to COVID and doing our best to avoid large congregations of people, we will not be holding Mini Thunder Races in 2020. We were very excited about these events and remain steadfast in our belief that these events provide an easy and fun introduction to our sport. Our 2020 reality however tells us that now is not the time to hold these events.

REMINDER ABOUT COVID PROTOCOLS
We just want to remind everyone about what is at stake here - we don't mean to be heavy handed about these protocols BUT the proposal we put forward allowed us to hold a race series this year. There is a lot on the line for every stakeholder in our sport, and we all share in the responsibility to follow these simple but important rules.

Let us be a great example of how we can adapt and adjust to this reality while enjoying the privilege of the fellowship of our sport. We knew it was going to be different and that our responsibility for the health and safety of everyone remains our top priority. And we can still have a good time!

As many of you know 2020 has been a wild ride so far!

Thankfully we're able to hop aboard the bike and take control of that ride but in order to do so we have to adapt and adhere to the following protocols set forth by the Regional Health Authority.  There are some real game changers in the protocols but we're confident that our race community will be able to adhere and abide by them respectfully.

Along with the Covid-19 protocols, our Sunday morning Rider's Meeting and Chapel service will be moving online - more information can be found through the links below.

All riders must read the protocols set forth in order to sign the race waiver which will also be moving online and released shortly.

We ask that you review both the Covid-19 protocols and Online Rider's Meeting carefully and please reach out if you have any questions!
